Foundation Life for children
History
The beginning of foundation Life for Children is dated to 1st of February 2000 with the aim to help children suffering from leukaemia. For this reason our attention was focused on building new bone - marrow transplant unit in University Hospital Motol and supporting the original unit at the same time. Our foundation bought medical and device technology for both transplant units in total value of 20 808 917,60 CZK.
After the official opening of this unit we made a decision to support other units of the II. paediatric Clinic UH Motol such as hematology, endocrinology, respiratory and infant unit and to continue in our founding activities for other institutions (alternative children homes, paediatric wards, institution for handicaped children, ) and also schools affected by floods. Foundation Life for children contributed with amout of 30 936 814,– CZK. As well as helping all those above we are trying to help children directly. We contributed to the purchase of wheelchairs,physiotherapeutic aids and computers, etc. We provided medical and device technology for The Clinic of Child´s and Young Generation Medicine at General University Hospital and the First Medical Faculty of Charles’s University in total value of 15 530 654,80 CZK.
At last we would like to mention the final amout of 102 500 227,47 Kč, that we were able to turn into efficient help when it was desperately needed. All this would be impossible without goodwill of many people and companies.
